SME Business Automation (SMEBA) is the business name of Lance Wicks. Formed after a long night of editing an Excel spreadsheet for a friend's small business. The spreadsheet was used as a sales tool and the friend had created it 3 years prior to track orders. Over the years he had created many other spreadsheets and none of them linked together, and lots of effort was spent maintaining them all. I created some dialog boxes, formulas and macros to automate much of the hard work and added some charts to simplify interpreting the results.
The friend was amazed, it made a HUGE difference, he suddenly knew what was happening in his business and was able to run his business better, profits went up.
I have worked in IT since the early 1990's, both in big and small businesses. My roles have ranged from helpdesk support for multinationals to Network management and sales. I have worked on interactive web technologies and teleworking, video and voice over IP (VOIP).
SMEBA, is a small business working with other small organisations. Everything is very personal and things are generally done by phone or in person. Being small we are as dedicated as you are to you are, every client matters and we know them all by name; not by account number!
Using primarily "Open Source" technology, your solutions will be low cost, reliable and easily supported by both SMEBA and any other person who might take it on in the future. Open Source solutions are used by huge businesses and small, this website was designed using open source tools and even the design was created using an open source design (see OSWD.org).
